A recent study has concluded that the Daily Mail derided "compensation culture" may not exist after all. A study by website www.personalinjurylawers.co.uk which was reported in the Law Gazette suggests that almost half of those asked didn't make a personal injury claim for compensation despite having the opportunity.
Many of those asked (18%) feared that they would not be able to find a reputable firm of personal injury compensation solicitors to help them. Others had different concerns.
There were 1,211 people interviewed for the study and of those, 39% thought they had suffered an accident for which they would be able to claim compensation. However, the majority of people asked decided that they wouldn't make a claim because they didn't know how.
