The Air Transport Rating Agency have published their list of the top ten safest airlines in the world today. Complied through rigerous assesment including safety record, average age of the fleet of aircraft and pilot training, the list is considered the truest independent assessment of airline safety.
You can read our blog on the ATRA's list of the ten safest airlines, with the list is dominated by american carriers, including AMD (and its American Airlines and American Eagle carriers), Delta, Continental, Southwest, United and US Airways, with all six making it into the top ten safest airlines.
European Airlines in the Safest List
European heavyweights also make it into the list of safest airlines to fly with including Lufthansa, Air France-KLM and British Airways all being amongst the top rated.
Japan Airlines are the final member but there was no room for Qantas or any of the other Asian big guns including Emirates, Singapore Airlines or Cathy Pacific.
