We were instructed by Mr B was was unlucky enough to suffer from an accident abroad. Mr B asked us to make a holiday compensation claim on his behalf and we were able to obtain significant compensation for him.
Mr B was on holiday in Florida when he decided to eat in Pizza Hut. Whilst making his way across the car park, he tripped and fell on a parking stop. Parking stops are frequently used in the USA to prevent cars from driving too far into a parking space. The stops are simply large concrete blocks stretching across the width of the parking space. On this occasion the stop was not highlighted in any way (they are often painted red or yellow) and was very difficult to see.
As a result of his accident on holiday, Mr B fractured his shoulder and had to curtail his holiday and return home to the UK for treatment. He had to have surgery to reattach ligaments in his shoulder and then have follow up physiotherapy.
Because of our extensive network of lawyers in the USA, we were able to engage a local lawyer with significant expertise in dealing with this type of holiday compensation claim. He was able to make contact with the Defendant's loss adjujster and reach settlement without the need to go to court. There were potential problems with liability, but depite the problems, we were able to convince the Defendant that they were at fault for Mr B's accident abroad. His claim was settled for in excess of £23,000.
If you have suffered an accident abroad and someone else was at fault, why not call us to find out if you can make a holiday claim?
